So we really are in crunch mode to get as much done as we can. We have to be out of the apartment by Monday. If anyone wants to help us move we wouldn't say no :)
We decided to just concentrate on the upstairs and just move in to that floor for right now because there was a lot of sheetrock downstairs that we had to rip up that wasn't in the bid for them to fix so we will be doing that on our own here in the next few weeks.
Here are some pictures of the sheetrock that they finished upstairs...
They are all pictures of our room because that is there he did the most work. Well that and of the archway in the kitchen. Some of those pictures will be in this next section.
Kevin came back into town yesterday....I just have to say what a huge life saver he has been through this whole thing. He really has helped us out a ton and I don't know what we would have done without all of his help!!! Anyways he came back in and him and Jake went up to the house yesterday to finish painting the kitchen and start priming all the other walls. And also prime the bathroom to get that ready to paint as well since that has already had all the patches filled in. We finally got rid of the hideous red wall and I couldn't be happier with the colors that we have chosen. I think that it will look so good!!!
These below pictures are of the upstairs bathroom that we need to get done and painted so that Brad can come in and lay some tile.
So painting should hopefully start today. I have the next few days off and really need to put in some late nights to get things rolling. Base and case were measured for yesterday and should be delivered today so we will start putting that up as soon as it gets to the house. Once that is done we are going to hang all new doors upstairs. Usually base and case and doors get painted before you put them up but because we are in a bit of a time crunch we are going to put it all up if we can and then go back after and paint it all. They won't lay flooring down unless case and base are done and doors hung and we have scheduled carpet to be put in on Friday so as you can see it really is crunch week. It is very stressful to say the least. I had a little bit of a break down last night because I feel like we aren't going to be ready to move on Saturday and don't really have a choice. I have two boxes packed....I hate packing!!! All of my time has been spent up at the house doing what I can to get it ready. I just feel overwhelmed and it is all getting away from me.
I think that doors should hopefully arrive today (exterior). I need to go and pick out knobs and locks for them today. I also need to do that for the inside doors as well but that isn't such a big deal to me as getting the outside ones all locked up and secure. So that is on my to do list today. As well as going up and helping with all the doors and casing and base.
Hopefully there will be a lot more updates coming this week with all that needs to get done so that we can move in to one floor this weekend!
I'm sorry you guys are stressed...the only good thing is it makes it all get done fast I guess! But we had a similar experience moving into this house. We had to fix a lot of it up before moving so I never had time to pack really. Just shoved it all in boxes and laundry baskets!! Stressful for sure! Hang in there.
