It begins......
Okay so me and Jake just bought our first house. It is a real fixer upper. I am sure that once you see the pictures over time you will be wondering what we were thinking in buying the house in the first place. I will tell you right now that the backyard is what sold us completely on the house. It is just under a half acre. With two little boys right now we thought it was perfect for them to grow up in. It also is fenced all the way around which is really nice. It is just a generic fence but I am just glad that we have one because there is no way we could afford to fence the whole yard yet.
The house officially became ours at the beginning of this week. We are really excited. Jake is ready to just jump right in and start getting rid of all the junk that is in there. They did leave a lot of random junk that we are ending up having to throw away for them. No one has lived in the house for a year so you can imagine the condition it is in.....or maybe you can't but the pictures will show you everything you need to know :)
Jake's family was in town this weekend and so him and his dad got a really great start on the house. We now get to borrow Jakes dad as much as we want because he has the summer off. It will be really nice to be able to utilize him and have him there along side with Jake to get a lot of things done. Jakes dad loves yards and working on them and that we have plenty of.....and man does it need a lot of help right now. Keep in mind that the house has been empty for a year so that means that no one has been taking care of the yard as well. So it needs plenty of TLC.
Now I am not going to overwhelm the blog with lots of pictures of the whole house so I figure I will blog on what room(s) is being worked on at the moment.
We are both really excited about getting this project started and moving in to start our 'real' life together. We are also looking forward to having the boys grow up in a big yard where they can go crazy!
